SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – ESET®, the global
leader in proactive digital protection with a 25-year track record of
award-winning technology, announces it has been recognized with the 2012
“Business of the Year Award” by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. The
announcement was made at the Chamber’s annual dinner and presented to ESET
North America CEO, Andrew Lee.
Each year the Chamber presents its
“Business of the Year Award” to a business member that has made a significant
contribution and had a favorable impact on the regional community. The Chamber
is the largest nonprofit advocate for the San Diego regional business
community. With nearly 3,000 members representing 400,000 employees, the
Chamber is actively involved in local government, regional economic development
and providing valuable resources to its members. Award recipients are proven
business leaders who give generously of both their time and resources to the
Chamber and the community. ESET and past winners like Qualcomm® and Taylor
Guitars® are recognized for their overall contribution to the promotion,
economic growth, stability and improvement of San Diego.
“ESET
was selected because they are a leader in the field of cyber security, and
represent the perfect example of a successful business that is making a
significant difference in San Diego and around the world,” said Mark
Leslie, interim president and CEO, San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber’s 2012 award is the latest
recognition of ESET’s dedication to protect diverse populations against modern
cyber threats while leveraging ESET technology-leadership for local community
success. In addition to numerous technical awards, in 2010, the ESET Securing
Our eCity program was awarded "Best Local/Community Plan" by the
Department of Homeland Security during their National Cybersecurity Awareness
Challenge.
“We
are honored to receive this award from the San Diego business community,”
said Andrew Lee. “ESET has called San
Diego home since 1999 and we believe in the region and the people who live and
work here. Together with our technology
and our commitment to customer service, San Diego has been an integral
ingredient in making ESET successful in North America.”
In addition to business interests, ESET
provides ongoing support for local organizations and programs that address
children’s needs, education, and economic vitality in the community. The
company’s current philanthropic efforts include the Securing our eCity
initiative, the San Diego Police Foundation’s Safety Net program, the Stephen
J. Wampler Foundation, and Reality Changers. ESET also encourages employees to
