bbb

·         Significant progress  with customer traction and partner ecosystem expansion
·         6-Month  release cycle continues to drive fast innovation and feeds customer requests
·         New platform functionality and deployment models available

Software AG today revealed significant progress in customer traction and partner expansion with its Digital Business Platform. The Digital Business Platform is the critical technology driver and enabler for enterprises pursuing digital transformation (see infographic).
Software AG’s Digital Business Platform delivers a wider range of capabilities that enable enterprises to quickly build business applications for the digital age. Conventional, off-the-shelf ERP and application software products are designed to support existing and predictable business processes – this means they cannot be adapted fast enough for changes in the business; the Digital Business Platform supports the development of applications for new, digitized processes, which did not exist in the past.
Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Wolfram Jost, Software AG said: “Digital applications are adaptable by design and ‘built to change’. Differentiating applications for the digital transformation cannot be bought off-the-shelf, they have to be built on an advanced development platform. And, most importantly, these platforms are the future of enterprise computing, for cloud, hybrid cloud and on premise deployments.”
Digital Transformation At Work: Digital Business Platform Enables Customer Centricity
Transformation is a major theme for enterprises as they strive to become digital, with  customer centricity being the major competitive advantage. This can be achieved through real-time visibility into one’s own business operations, identifying potential bottlenecks and through automated and optimized business processes, reacting dynamically to changing business environments.
Digitization Is Making Progress Worldwide
Dr. Wolfram Jost, Software AG also noted: “We see that digitization is progressing on a worldwide scale. A major telecomunications company in Australia launched a new business process transformation to get their products and services to market five times faster. In France, a leading semiconductor manufacturer wanted an order, invoicing and payment system to help them identify and quickly respond to supply chain delays. And in Germany, a logistics company needed a system to help them respond to their customers more quickly as well as offer a broader portfolio of services. In each case, these companies chose the Digital Business Platform as the foundation to digitally transform their businesses.”
Software AG Drives 6-Month Development Cycle For Digital Business Platform
The Digital Business Platform is a service-oriented, event-driven and API enabled development environment with many high-level, out-of-the-box application services to support the creation of integration, process, decision, event and programming logic. The platform is cloud- and mobile-enabled, supports the development of micro services and follows the priciples of a software defined architecture. Container managment is included for ease of deployment. Major improvements have been accomplished in the five core components of the Digital Business Platform since its initial launch six months ago, including:
1.       Business and IT transformation - ARIS and Alfabet: The latest Alfabet release enables more effective planning and management of  the enterprise landscape with new reporting capabilities such as geo-maps for regional performance analysis and integration with Technopedia® IT catalog for greater precision in managing the enterprise technology portfolio . The latest release of ARIS helps organization to transform to a customer centric digital business by improving their customer journeys and customer touch points. The new ARIS also offers its full range of capabilities as an enterprise cloud service.
2.       In-memory data management  - Terracotta:The latest version of Terracotta BigMemory offers support for WAN Replication Service and also extends support to Java 8 and RedHat EL7 (server). Also, Terracotta now offers off-heap to the open souce community.

4.       Agile processes - webMethods AgileApps: AgileApps provides subject-matter experts and developers the capability to visually build and deploy process-driven solutions in days or  weeks rather than months or years.
5.       Intelligent business operations - Apama: Apama Streaming Analytics is at the core of Software AGs IBO offering and is the basis upon which companies can manage fast ‘Big Data’ and the increasing impact of the ‘Internet of Things’. The new Apama version brings a much-anticipated capability for horizontal scalability and availability: Apama Queries. This lets business analysts and developers create scalable and elastic applications that process events originating from very large populations of real-world entities.

In addition, Adabas & Natural have been extended to provide comprehensive integration capabilities with the Digital Business Platform. The latest update, Event Analytics for Adabas, audits sensitive Adabas operations in real-time used in critical business applications.
