Mechelen, Tiel, april 2011 – Steeds meer bedrijven in Nederland, waarbij ook Smilde Foods, een vooraanstaande producent van voedingsmiddelen, maken in toenemende mate gebruik van CHEP pallet en container pooling diensten. Dit is vooral te danken aan de grotere efficiëntie, de kostenbesparing en de duurzaamheid die dit systeem in de bevoorradingsketen genereert.
Smilde Foods is specialist in het ontwikkelen van hoogwaardige oplossingen met margarines, oliën, vetten, salades, quiches en sauzen. De producten vinden hun weg naar voedingsmiddelenproducenten, industriële bakkerijen, supermarkten, restaurants en grootkeukens.
Toen vorig jaar de Nederlandse distributieorganisatie Superunie zijn koelvers leveranciers vroeg om naar een pallet poolingsysteem over te stappen en zo de supply chain efficiënter te maken, schreef Smilde Foods samen met Zwanenberg een tender uit. Na het doorlopen van een competitief aanbestedingsproces, haalde CHEP het contract binnen voor 13 producenten. Voor Smilde Foods was CHEP geen onbekende; de twee bedrijven werken al 32 jaar samen.
